A 26-year-old Nigerian man, Ayowale Aledejana, has been fatally st@bbed in a home on Monson Road in New Cross, southeast London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the property around 7:26 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a st@bbing. Emergency responders, including paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, Ayowale, a resident of South Norwood, Croydon was pronounced de@d on the spot.
The victim’s family has been informed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.
Two individuals, a 23-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card, who is leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones and assured the public that authorities are conducting a swift and thorough investigation.
“This incident will understandably cause concern in the community,” she said. “We are urging anyone who has not yet come forward to speak with us.”
