The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has expressed strong dis@pproval over a breach of aviation safety regulations by popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate), at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday, August 5, 2025.

According to FAAN, preliminary findings revealed that the incident occurred during the boarding of ValueJet Airlines Flight VK 201, bound for Lagos. Wasiu Ayinde reportedly attempted to bring an unidentified liquid substance onboard the aircraft, defying repeated warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) officers and the flight captain.

Under international aviation safety rules—including Nigeria’s National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and ICAO Annex 17, passengers are prohibited from carrying liquid items exceeding 100ml through security unless they are for medical use and properly declared.

Despite being informed of this regulation, the musician allegedly refused to comply. Matters escalated when an airline security official asked him to step aside for further clarification. Instead, Ayinde reportedly poured the contents of the flask, later identified as alcohol on the officer.

FAAN stated that the flight captain also attempted to intervene but met with the same level of resistance. Once boarding was concluded, she ordered the aircraft doors shut.

Eyewitnesses reported that the musician then moved to the aircraft’s front and refused to vacate the area, ignoring multiple requests. He was eventually escorted away by the AVSEC crime unit for further questioning and later released.

FAAN has since reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all passengers, airline crew, and airport staff. The agency emphasized that it would not tolerate any act that threatens operational safety or vi%lates established aviation regulations, regardless of the status of the individual involved.

The incident is under thorough investigation, and FAAN assured that anyone found culpable will face appropriate legal consequences.
