Female Passenger Remanded for A§§aulting Ibom Air Crew
At about 1430hrs on Sunday, August 10, 2025, a case involving an unruly passenger was reported by Ibom Air following the arrival of flight QI 513 from Uyo.
The passenger, identified as Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a§§aulted crew member Ms. Juliana Edward upon arrival at the terminal.
According to information gathered by CPO, passengers had been instructed to switch off their mobile phones prior to landing. Ms. Emmanson repeatedly refused to comply, despite several appeals from the cabin crew.
Upon landing, the crew delayed her disembarkation while awaiting the arrival of BASL AVSEC and FAAN AVSEC personnel. During this time, Ms. Emmanson physically a§§aulted Ms. Edward.
When approached by BASL and FAAN AVSEC officers and invited to the Final Departure Lounge for interrogation, the passenger became hostile and refused to board the designated Coaster bus. While efforts were made to persuade her, she sl+pped CII Ayoola and FAAN AVSEC officer Ajorin.
Ms. Emmanson was eventually restrained and placed into the Coaster bus by BASL AVSEC officer Faith. Inside the vehicle, she held CII Obadare by the jugular and repeatedly sl+pped him. In order to prevent further disr¥ption at the terminal, she was immediately transported to Tango City in the MMA2 Coaster bus.
The a§§aulted cabin crew member, who was visibly distressed and deemed unfit to continue, did not proceed to Tango City. However, Ibom Air’s Duty Manager, Mr. Johnson K.A., later accompanied FAAN CII personnel to Tango City to support ongoing interrogation and investigation efforts.
In addition to the earlier a§§aults, the passenger also att+cked BASL AVSEC officers Faith and Ayooluwa.
Ms. Comfort Emmanson is to be charged to court after interrogations are completed.
