The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested two students of the Federal University, Otuoke (FUO), alongside another suspect, for allegedly a§§aulting, cyberb¥llying, and abd¥cting a fellow student.
One of the suspects, identified as Kadi, was arrested with two accomplices following investigations into the disturbing incident. Police confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will face further interrogation before being charged in court. The command assured the public of its commitment to justice and maintaining law and order in the state.
In a shocking turn, one of the arrested suspects, 20-year-old FUO student Blessing Daniel, admitted her involvement in the viral att@ck. She confessed that she and her friends a§§aulted their colleague, Miss Nancy Wilfred, while under the influence of alc%hol. The suspects reportedly l¥red Wilfred to their apartment, where she was be@ten, str+pped n@ked, and h¥miliated as one of them recorded the ordeal. The footage later surfaced online, sparking outrage and widespread condemnation.
Daniel, who expressed regret, claimed she acted out of anger after believing the victim was spreading false rumors about her.
“We were four, but Favour, who started the att@ck, is still on the run. We didn’t know it would escalate like this. If we were in our right minds, we wouldn’t have gone this far,” she said.
According to her, the victim was invited under the pretense of picking up laundry before the a§§ault began. “She lied that I did Kayamata, so I confronted her. She didn’t respond, and I sl@pped her. She p¥shed me back, and we started f+ghting. Favour fueled the anger that made the whole situation worse.”
