Malivelihood Invests in the Digital Economy, Funds Skills Training for 100 Youth from Kogi and Oyo

In a bold step to boost Nigeria’s digital economy, entrepreneur and philanthropist Michael Awujoola, popularly known as Malivelihood, has sponsored 100 youths from Kogi and Oyo states for the SkillUp Earn Up Program, founded by branding strategist and youth development advocate John Otetah.

The program focuses on social media management, artificial intelligence, and content creation—skills that can translate into direct income for participants. According to projections by the SkillUp Earn Up team, each trainee could potentially earn between ₦200,000 and ₦500,000 monthly through freelancing, digital services, and small business support. Over the course of a year, this could inject more than ₦600 million into the local economies of Kogi and Oyo, creating ripple effects for small businesses, startups, and communities.

Malivelihood described the initiative as a “birthday investment into Nigeria’s future.” John Otetah added that beyond individual income, the program has the potential to strengthen regional economies, reduce unemployment, and prepare the states to play bigger roles in Africa’s digital transformation.
