According to Arise News, The management team of ARISE News, led by the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Somtochukwu Sommie Maduagwu at their residence in Port Harcourt. The visit, which took place earlier today, was a solemn gesture of solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family following the untimely passing of Maduagwu, a rising journalist and correspondent with ARISE News.

Prince Obaigbena, represented by the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Bayo Awosemo, was joined by the Director of News, Mr. Sumner Sambo, and the Director of Corporate Services, Mr. Christopher Isiguzo. The delegation met with the grieving family members, offering words of comfort and support during the difficult period.

Speaking on behalf of the ARISE News management, Mr. Awosemo described Maduagwu as a talented, dedicated, and promising professional whose contributions to the station and Nigerian journalism were remarkable despite his young age. He noted that the deceased embodied the spirit of commitment and excellence that the station strives to uphold.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Somtochukwu. His passing is a painful blow, not just to his family, but to all of us at ARISE News who had the privilege of working closely with him. We are here today to stand with his family, to let them know that they are not alone in this grief,” Awosemo said.

Director of News, Mr. Sambo, recalled Maduagwu’s professionalism and passion for storytelling, emphasizing that his legacy will live on in the impactful reports he produced during his career. He assured the family that the station would continue to honor his memory.

Similarly, Mr. Isiguzo conveyed the station’s condolences and stressed that ARISE News would provide necessary support to the family during this trying time.
