Police Summon Sujimoto CEO Over Alleged $556,000 Fraud
The Nigeria Police Force has invited Olasijibomi Ogundele, the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, for questioning over alleged involvement in a $556,000 advance fee fr@ud and criminal misappropriation.
According to a police letter dated October 16, 2025, and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Yahaya Gambo for the AIG Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, Ogundele had earlier failed to honour a previous invitation slated for September 29, 2025.
He has now been directed to appear before the Assistant Inspector-General of Police on October 20, 2025. The letter warned that failure to comply with the summons would amount to “deliberate obstruction of investigation and contempt for constituted authority,” in vi%lation of the Police Act, 2020, and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
The police invitation followed a petition filed by lawyer Ayokunle Erin on behalf of his client, Olatokunbo Cole.
In the petition dated August 18, 2025, Erin alleged that in 2020, Ogundele approached his client to purchase a three-bedroom flat at Leonardo by Sujimoto Luxury Apartments. Ogundele reportedly promised that the property could later be resold at a higher value.
The apartment was said to have been advertised for $594,474, with an agreed payment plan allowing Cole to pay 90 percent upfront and the remaining 10 percent upon completion.
Erin claimed his client fulfilled 90 percent of the payment amounting to $556,000 by April 24, 2022, but has since been unable to secure the property or a refund.
