Insecurity: “We are Ready to help you if you ask” Amaechi offers Support to President Tinubu amid rising Att+cks

Former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi has criticised the federal government over its handling of Nigeria’s growing security challenges, saying there is a lack of political will to stop the increasing k+llings and t+rrorist att+cks. He stated that he is ready to assist President Bola Tinubu in tackling the insecurity crisis if called upon.

In a statement on Wednesday, Amaechi condemned the recent abd¥ction of 25 students in Kebbi State, the k+lling of Brigadier General Musa Uba in Borno, and a b+ndits’ att+ck on a church in Kwara, describing these as signs of a government failing in its core responsibility.

He said the government’s inaction has “emboldened t+rrorists and eroded public trust,” pointing to multiple att+cks in Plateau, Kebbi, Borno, Kwara, and Kaduna over the past week. Amaechi called on the federal authorities to improve security responses and intelligence operations, urging sharper tactics and better military coordination.

Addressing President Tinubu, he emphasised that protecting lives and property should be the top priority, warning against mere statements of condemnation or misplaced travel priorities. He stressed that decisive action, accountability, and strengthened coordination are needed to reverse the worsening security situation.

Amaechi reiterated his readiness to assist the administration, noting that successes in Rivers State can be replicated nationwide, saying, “we are prepared to help if you request help.”
