Kogi Govt Reportedly Launches Helicopter, Anti K+dnapping Squad After Bandits Att+ck Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba

The Kogi State Government has deployed both aerial and ground security assets following an att+ck by armed bandits on a Cherubim and Seraphim church in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area.

A video posted on Facebook by Egbe Emekun Parrot and credited to Olusegun Iselaiye on Sunday shows a state-operated helicopter and an anti-k+dnapping squad combing the community in search of the att+cjers.

During the raid, the church pastor, popularly known as Orlando, along with an unconfirmed number of worshippers, was reportedly abd¥cited.

The att+ck, which occurred earlier on November 30, 2025, has heightened fear among residents and intensified concerns over rising insecurity in the region.

SaharaReporters gathered that security operatives are actively working to track down the perpetrators and ensure the victims’ safe return.

SaharaReporters had reported on video footage from Ejiba capturing the aftermath of the a§§ault on the church. The footage obtained shows the interior of the worship centre in disarray, with congregants’ shoes and Bibles left scattered at their seats.

In the video, the individual recording described how the abd¥ction unfolded while appealing for help.

“I hid myself; this is the church where they abd¥cted people. You are seeing where they k+dnapoed people at Ejiba. Please, save us. Baba Orlando, who is the head of this church, was abd¥cted. You can see the inside. They didn’t bother to put of the speaker or anything,” he said in Yoruba.

The incident adds to a troubling rise in v%olent att+cks on worship centres and communities in Kogi State and other parts of the country, prompting renewed calls for stronger security interventions.
