Rapper Ice Prince has spoken candidly about his fitness transformation, tracing the decision to early 2025 conversations about his next music project during an appearance on Echo Room.
According to the rapper, discussions around February 2025 with producer Chopsticks went beyond sound and visuals, touching on image and lifestyle. He recalled Chopsticks telling him that for the next album, “we need to give them a new look… we need to lose the belly, grow the beards,” a comment Ice Prince said “just sunk in a way that I had never heard it before.” He added, “I started the weight loss journey on that particular day.”
Ice Prince said he immediately began researching fitness and nutrition, following trainers online and learning about food choices. He noted that another statement from Chopsticks became a guiding principle for him: “Everything that goes into your mouth is supposed to be medicine… everything that goes into your mouth should play a role in your body.”
Describing his routine, the rapper said he adopted intermittent fasting and strict dietary changes. “I started with intermittent fasting, started eating once a day… started making my ginger tea, and jelly, and plums, and lemon,” he said, adding that he cut out sugar and alcohol, aside from rare “cheat days.”
He also spoke about incorporating regular exercise into his schedule, including daily walks and early-morning jogging when possible. Ice Prince said location sometimes affects his routine, noting that walking outdoors is easier when he is in Lagos.
The rapper sparked reactions online with his blunt take on breakfast during the interview, declaring, “Anybody who eats breakfast to me right now is a princess… it’s a sc@m… any g¥y that chop breakfast, you be Barbie.”
