The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticised Nigerian pastors who frequently travel abroad for revival programmes, questioning the true motive behind such international crusades.
Speaking during a special empowerment outreach he hosted over the weekend, the cleric described overseas revivals particularly in the United States as more of a “pleasure” than genuine soul-winning missions.

“Going to America to do revival is a lie,” he said. “Why can’t you go to the camp of w+tches and wiz@rds to convert them? Going to America is a pleasure.”
Ayodele argued that authentic evangelism should focus on spiritually challenging environments rather than well-structured foreign gatherings. According to him, pastors should demonstrate boldness by taking the gospel to places perceived as spiritually dark instead of organising high-profile events abroad.
Explaining his generosity, Ayodele said giving is central to his calling. “What informed my philanthropy is because it’s my mission. If I don’t do it, I won’t feel good. If I put clothes in the wardrobe, someone else will wear them when I d+e. So I don’t keep money; I don’t have to keep money when people are s¥ffering,” he said.

“As a pastor, you follow what you preach. It is what I preach that I am demonstrating. It’s just common sense.”
