U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly held a one-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss the ongoing conflicts in Iran and Ukraine. The conversation, described by Putin’s adviser Yuri Ushakov as “frank and constructive,” focused on seeking political and diplomatic solutions to the crises.

Ushakov said, “The accent was placed on the situation surrounding the conflict with Iran and the bilateral negotiations underway with the representatives of the United States on settling the Ukrainian question.”
Putin also highlighted “the current situation on the line of contact where Russian troops are progressing with a lot of success” in Ukraine and welcomed Trump’s mediation efforts.

According to Ushakov, the call reportedly initiated by Washington, was the first direct discussion between the two leaders since December and aimed to address key international concerns, including the push for a ceasefire in Ukraine and a political resolution in Iran.
Ushakov described the conversation as serious and constructive, emphasizing the importance of ongoing diplomatic engagement.
