A 60-year-old scavenger has been arrested by the Niger State police for raping an 8-year-old girl selling fish.
The incident happened around 1:30pm on Saturday, July 11, 2020, while the girl was put hawking. Haruna Lawal allegedly lured her into an uncompleted building with N100 and had canal knowledge of her.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.
