A 77-year-old Nigerian Uber driver, Olatunji W. Bolaji, was sh%t and k+lled in Philadelphia while attempting to pick up a passenger outside a hookah lounge.

The f@tal incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, near Byblos Hookah Bar. Bolaji, a resident of Norristown, Pennsylvania, had just arrived to pick up a rider when two armed men emerged from a vehicle parked behind his car and opened f+re, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The suspects fired multiple sh%ts, striking Bolaji in the he@d and inj¥ring the 22-year-old passenger in the arm, leg, and abdomen. Despite his wo¥nds, Bolaji managed to drive a short distance before cr@shing. Emergency crews responded, but he was pronounced de@d at the scene.

The inj¥red passenger remains in critical condition at a nearby hospital. Police believe the sh00ting followed a physical alterc@tion involving the suspects and the passenger and suggest that someone in the vehicle may have been the target.

The g¥nmen fled the scene in a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Massachusetts license plates. Authorities are actively investigating.

Bolaji is remembered as a devoted father and loving partner. A family friend described his de@th as heartbreaking and called for justice. Uber also issued a statement expressing condolences and confirmed their cooperation with the investigation.
