Former Arsenal Star Samir Nasri arrested over Money Laundering Linked to Drug Kingpin

Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri was reportedly arrested and questioned by French police as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged money laundering network linked to convicted drug trafficker Hakim Berrebouh, popularly known as “Wild Boar.”

According to reports, the 39-year-old former France international, who now works as a football pundit for Canal Plus, was interrogated for about 10 hours on Thursday before being released later that evening without charge. No legal action has been taken against him.

The investigation focuses on suspected drug importation, criminal conspiracy and the laundering of proceeds from drug trafficking. Authorities are examining alleged connections between Nasri and Berrebouh’s criminal network, as well as Olivier Sabbah, also known as “Paulo,” who is believed to be a key figure in the alleged money laundering operation.

Investigators are also looking into Nasri’s reported involvement through XS nightclub in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne. The former footballer became a shareholder in the nightclub around 2016 after reportedly investing several hundred thousand euros while playing for Manchester City.

Nasri later became a co-owner of the club alongside Bilele Z., one of the venue’s regular clients, who was also taken into police custody on Thursday as part of the investigation.

The probe remains ongoing, with authorities yet to file any charges against the former Premier League star.
