The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ebok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has approved the appointment of Engineer Samuel Osoruchi Nwanosike, as Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA).
According to an official statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Dr. Nwanosike, a well-known political figure and close ally of former Governor Nyesom Wike, previously served as Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area. His new assignment comes at a time when waste management has become a pressing concern in Rivers State.
Meanwhile, In recent weeks, residents of Port Harcourt have voiced bitter complaints over the growing heaps of refuse scattered across major streets and neighborhoods, describing the situation as an eyesore and a potential health hazard. Many are calling for urgent intervention to restore cleanliness and prevent disease outbreaks.
