I will look for a title too, so that I’ll be like you people. I want to be an ancestor now-Siminalayi Fubara

According to the report from SYMFONI TV, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing development, unity, and peace across the state. The governor stated this during a meeting with traditional rulers in Port Harcourt.

While addressing the royal fathers, Governor Fubara expressed his appreciation for their continuous support and presence at state functions.

Let me finally thank the former chairman for finding time to be here,” he said. “Um, I would have said something, but we’ve not gotten the official time to announce it. So, at the right time, I will notify you on something. And for that reason, there’s a particular protocol that I would have observed, but I also have to play on it for now.”

In a lighter tone, the governor paid homage to the traditional institution, noting that leadership, like kingship, is a journey of service and legacy.

“But in all, kings don’t die they transit,” he remarked. “So when I finish this work, in fact, I’m thinking whether I will look for a title too, so that I’ll be like you people. I want to be an ancestor now.”

Governor Fubara further assured the traditional rulers of his government’s unwavering focus on governance, development, and inclusivity.

“So let me wish everyone well and assure you that we’ll continue to do what we have promised, to uplift Rivers State, to make sure that we are not left behind in the committee of states, that Rivers State is counted among the organized, developed, and above all, peace-loving states,” he said.

He concluded his address with words of goodwill: “Thank you for your time, and I wish you journey mercies to your respective homes. Thank you, and may God bless you all.
