Angry Paris Saint Germain (PSG) fans took to the streets to riot after their favourite club lost the UEFA Champions League final to Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich won the 2019/20 Champions League with a 1-0 win over PSG, their sixth European Cup.

After the game, which was decided by Kingsley Coman’s 59th minute header 0 a former PSG’s player – clashes between Police and fans were reported in Paris.

The 24-year-old was the only change to Hansi Flick’s line-up from the semi-final and his inclusion proved to be a masterstroke as the Parisien, who started his career at PSG, came back to bite the hand that fed him.

Hundreds of other supporters trudged away from the famed avenue in Paris following the 1-0 defeat, which ended PSG’s bid to join Marseille as the only French club to win Europe’s elite soccer competition.

Close to the Champs-Élysées, a dozen riot police in full gear burst into a bar to aggressively remove people, because some were not wearing masks, or were failing to keep social distancing amid coronavirus concerns.

‘Trouble started before the final whistle,’ said a fan at the Parc des Princes. ‘Riot police were out in force, and they came under attack when PSG went one-nil down.’

As he spoke, scores of tear gas canisters were aimed at fans, who fired red flares and fireworks back.

Videos posted on Twitter showed the concourse around the Parc looking and sounding like a war zone.

At one stage a white police vehicle was attacked by a small group of fans – prompting police to move in.

Riot police were also involved in skirmishes with gangs of youths in other parts of the city, including packed cafés, were arrests were made.

Bayern Munich are also the first side ever to win every game in a Champions League campaign and first unbeaten champions since Man Utd in 2007/2008.
