Nigeria Drifting into Anarchy under Tinubu - Ohanaeze Youth Council
…The arrest of Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Bar Kingdom Okere, and others is indicative of Nigeria’s downward spiral.
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), representing Igbo youths worldwide as the highest sociocultural youth organization, has depicted Nigeria as a state verging on anarchy and political instability.
The prevailing atmosphere of intimidation, harassment, and tribal victimization surrounding the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu case with the federal government has underscored a clear collapse of the Nigerian State under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
In a strongly-worded warning issued on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, Ohanaeze Youth Council President Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka decried the executive recklessness of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration, asserting that Nigeria is drifting towards anarchy, orchestrated by Bola Tinubu in a desperate attempt to muzzle voices of justice, opposition, and reason ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The current state of Nigeria under Bola Tinubu’s leadership is precarious, similar to a ship on the verge of capsizing after being struck by a tornado. Arresting or fetaining Omoyele Sowore could potentially add fuel to the fire, Comrade Igboayaka warned.
It’s shocking this morning that Bola Tinubu, through his anti-human rights Nigerian police, ordered the arrest of Comrade Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress AAC and the convener of the first phase of the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
It is noteworthy that on 20th October, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acting through the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the arrest of peaceful protesters, including Nnamdi Kanu lawyer Bar Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Bar Kingdom Nnamdi Okere, and others, during the peaceful FreeNnamdiKanu protest, and they were subsequently arraigned at Kuje Magistrate Court and remanded in custody at Kuje Prison. #FreeNnamdiKanu.
President Bola Tinubu must take immediate action to order the release of Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Bar Kingdom Okere, and others, and commence a process of national healing and true reconciliation to prevent the recurrence of the Madagascar and Napel crises in Nigeria.
In light of the growing international demand for Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should consider the counsel of esteemed Nigerian leaders, pursuing a political solution, dropping all charges, and effecting his unconditional release, Comrade Igboayaka advised.
Nnamdi Kanu’s case highlights the issue of selective justice against the lgbo people, potentially undermining Nigeria’s stability due to Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s actions, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka concluded.
