Several Nigerian soldiers were inj¥red after torrorists ambushed a military team on a mission to rescue kidnapped students in Kebbi State.
The attack occurred just a day after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, directed troops of Operation Fasan Yamma to intensify efforts against the b+ndits responsible for abd¥cting students from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga.
Shaibu instructed the troops to conduct continuous day-and-night operations, emphasizing the use of intelligence for targeted action. “Once you receive information on something like this, act professionally and decisively. This is not just about our image; it is about doing our job properly,” he said.
Troops were ordered to maintain 24-hour operations until all the abd¥cted students are safely rescued and returned to their families.
During the mission, the soldiers were ambushed, resulting in several inj$ries. Video footage obtained by DAILY POST shows wounded soldiers lying helplessly, awaiting medical assistance. One victim, speaking in Hausa, said, “Musa has a b¥llet lodged in his leg. His condition is very bad.”
The military vehicle used in the operation was also riddled with b¥llet holes during the att+ck.
