Nigerians react after Governor Wike promised N10m each to artistes who performed at Burna Boy’s homecoming concert

Recall that Grammy award winner Burna Boy, visited his home state for his homecoming concert after he won a Grammy for his album “Twice As Tall”.

In the concert, the Governor of Rivers state Wike, who was present at the event, promised to give N10 each to all the artist who performed. This led to public backlash and outrage as Nigerians question why a Governor will gift such money to entertainers.

Others also demanded to know whether the money which Wike promised the artists will be coming from the state fund.

Burna Boy was also gifted land in Old GRA, Port Harcourt and money to build by the state Governor.
