Yinka Odumakin’s lying-in-state burial rites (Photos)

The funeral rites of Yinka Odumakin, kicked off today April 22, with a lying-in-state of his body and service of songs at the Police College, Ikeja Lagos

He died on Friday April 2nd 2021.

His body will leave Lagos for Moro, his country home, in Ife North LGA of Osun State On Friday, April 23 where a Christian wake keep will be held at the Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro, to be followed by a candlelight procession. His body will be interred on Saturday, April 24

Odumakin died from COVID19-related complications at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital isolation centre on Friday, April 2.

Mrs Okei-Odumakin, also the President of Women Arise, made the announcement in a statement in Lagos.

She said

“The sad event happened on Saturday morning at the intensive care unit of LASUTH where he was being managed for respiratory issues due to complications from COVID-19 which he had recovered from about a week ago.

“I appreciate the outpouring of grief and sympathy from home and abroad as I mourn my irreplaceable soulmate.”
