Oil worker wrongly arrested and paraded as ”unknown gunman” released by police

Casmir Ibegbulem, an oil worker who was wrongly arrested and paraded as one of the unknown gunmen disturbing the state, has been released by the police.
Ibegbulem, a father of one was first revealed to be an oil worker by Queen Elias, a lady who claimed he is her uncle.
Queen Elias posted pictures of the 40-year-old man in an office, and disclosed that he lives in Bonny Island, Rivers State, adding that he had only visited Owerri, Imo state to purchase items in preparation for his father-in-law’s burial on May 28, before his arrest.
”Ibe Casmir (the guy putting on white)..he was my course mate in FUTO, he works with an oil firm in PH. He entered Owerri with his family for his father in-law’s burial only to get arrested and paraded as an unknown gunman.
Pls help me share, he’s Innocent!! I’ve known him over the years…. PLEASE LET’S NOT ALLOW NIGERIAN POLICE KILL INNOCENT MAN. HELP HE HAS A YOUNG FAMILY…. Please keep sharing this post if you see it”
Human rights activist, Gwanshu Harrison, in a recent post, confirmed that the state police command had released Ibegbulem after the outcry by the media and pressure from civil society groups.
“Ibegbulem, who was arrested by Imo State Police Command as one of the #UGM (Unknown Gunmen), has been released. He was transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja two days after our online protest. Currently, I don’t know the whereabouts of others in this picture. Thanks to @PoliceNG_CRU,” he tweeted.
