2026 Is a Year of ‘Kabush Kabash,’ — Celebrity Prophet Odumeje Declares
Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, the Onitsha-based pastor popularly known as Odumeje, has declared 2026 a year of “kabush kabash.”
The controversial cleric made the declaration while addressing his congregation during a crossover service at his church, describing the coming year as a season of intense spiritual warfare.
“2026 is a year of kabush kabash,” Odumeje proclaimed.
“Kabush kabash” is a slang or pidgin expression popularised by Odumeje and does not have a direct one-word English translation. The phrase is largely contextual, often associated with spiritual confrontation, particularly during moments of speaking in tongues, also known as glossolalia.
During the declaration, Odumeje accompanied his message with dramatic hand gestures, forming an ‘X’ with his arms while raising his index and middle fingers, a trademark of his theatrical preaching style.
He further stated that while 2026 would witness numerous battles, he was fully prepared, claiming he had already “engaged God” to fight on behalf of his followers.
“I know that many will come. I am ready for the battle. Lift up your hands of destiny. The battle is not yours. I am ready to fight your war. I and my heavenly father. From today, prepare the burials of your enemies one by one. I am a warlord. I have never lost a f+ght. I can never lose a battle,” he said.
Odumeje has remained a polarising public figure, gaining prominence through his unconventional preaching methods and claims of supernatural powers. In 2024, he dismissed critics who questioned his abilities by describing himself as “a liquid metal.”
