Debo Macaroni, one of the frontliners of during the 2020 #EndSARS campaign has a few words for the government and some celebrities ahead of the first anniversary of the #LekkiMassacre.
The social media influencer faulted the government over its refusal to allow youths commemorate the day with a peaceful walk.
Debo Macaroni also revealed that the youths suggested a holding a referendum on 20th October at Landmark Event Centre to discuss the way forward but that was also rejected by the Lagos State government under the guise that the event would be hijacked.
He was however quick to note that the government holds events all the time, political rallies and others and these are never hijacked.
Also, he pointed out that a number of celebrities are on hand at these government functions, providing entertainment to attendees.
Debo Macaroni stated that he is not against celebrities making money but it should be from a government that cares and also, they can still advocate for the one year anniversary of the #EndSARS protests despite working government events.
