The National Leadership Of The Labour Party (LP) Has Called For The Arrest And Prosecution Of Julius Abure And Others Over An Alleged Criminal Invasion Of The Party’s National Secretariat In Abuja.
The Faction, Led By Nenadi Usman, Chairman, And Darlington Nwokocha, National Secretary, Made The Demand On Monday.
Addressing Journalists In Abuja, Theophilus Ndubuaku, Deputy National Chairman Of The Party, Said The Leadership Remains Committed To Constitutional Democracy, The Rule Of Law And Respect For Judicial Pronouncements.
Ndubuaku Said Nigeria Is Governed By Laws And Not Impunity, Adding That The Supremacy Of The Constitution And The Finality Of Court Decisions Must Be Upheld.
He Referenced The Judgment Of The Supreme Court Delivered On April 4, 2025, In Suit No. SC/CV/56/2025, Which He Said Affirmed Usman As National Chairman And Nwokocha As National Secretary Of The Party.
His Words: “As A Party, We Have Formally Petitioned The Inspector General Of Police Demanding Immediate Investigation, Arrest And Prosecution Of Mr. Julius Abure And Others For Criminal Trespass, Armed Robbery, Theft, Assault, Malicious Damage, Impersonation, Contempt Of Court, Conspiracy, And Threats To National Security And Peace.
“We Further Call On The Honourable Attorney General Of The Federation (AGF) To Activate And Implement Without Delay The Criminal Prosecution Order Dated 7th March 2025 Concerning Julius Abure, Umar Farouk Ibrahim And Others For Their Indictments For Perjury, Forgery, And Criminal Conspiracy Against The Named Individuals.
“Nigeria’s Security Agencies Are Constitutionally Empowered To Enforce The Law. We Therefore Commend The Nigeria Police Force And Other Security Services For Their Professional And Neutral Intervention That Prevented Further Escalation Of The Activities Of The Invaders And Preserved Public Order.”
Ndubuaku Said The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Has Complied With Subsisting Judgments And Formally Recognised The Usman-Led Leadership As The Authentic Authority Of The Party.
