LP crisis: Let’s put our differences aside – Peter Obi to party members

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the just concluded presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, has alleged that “some evil designs were being hatched against him and his supporters.”

Obi claimed that “efforts will be made to taint his image”, adding that “campaigns of calumny were being perfected to defame his character and diminish his hard-earned integrity in the coming months”.

In a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Monday, Obi disclosed that part of the schemes would aim to degrade his support base and confuse the public.

His statement is coming on the heels of swearing-in of the President-elect Bola Tinubu, Today, Monday.

However, the former Anambra State governor urged Nigerians to remain peaceful and law abiding, no matter their reservations about what is happening in the polity.

He assured he would never shrink from the commitment to work with like-minded fellow Nigerians in order to end the curse of missed opportunities and squandered hopes in the nation.

“I am aware of some evil designs being hatched against me and my supporters in the coming months. Efforts will be made to taint my image. Campaigns of calumny are being perfected to defame my character and diminish my hard-earned integrity.

“These schemes will aim at degrading our support base and confusing the public. But, no evil campaign will alter the substance of my character; nor diminish my patriotic commitment to a better Nigeria,” part of his statement read.
