Lizzy Anjorin breaks silence over gold theft allegations

Nigerian film actress, Lizzy Anjorin has responded to a video that went viral showing her purportedly taking gold from a Lagos market.

Controversial blogger Gistlover claimed that Lizzy Anjorin was apprehended at the market after purportedly attempting to purchase the gold with a fictitious bank transfer.

The screen diva has responded to the accusations by denying them in an Instagram live video.

She claims that Iyabo Ojo, a colleague, is circulating false information about her and that she merely went to the market to buy clothes and accessories.

In Lizzy Anjorin’s words:

“Do they sell gold at Tom Jones, because that place is Tom Jones where they sell wedding materials like stones for a wedding gown because I do wedding gowns?

Shepeteri (Iyabo Ojo) how come you are the first person who posted the story if you are not the one behind it.”

In other news, Renowned cultural icon, Jimi Solanke is dead.

Reports claim the 82 year old dramatist, folk singer, plawright and poet passed on in the early hours of Monday, February 5 after a brief illness.

He died en route the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.

Born on July 4, 1942, in Ipara Remo, Jimi Solanke’s artistic journey began as a pioneer member of the Orisun Theatre Group, founded by the renowned Wole Soyinka, in 1961.

His contributions to the global entertainment industry spanned seven decades, leaving an indelible mark on various platforms, from the Western Nigeria Television in the 1960s to international festivals in Senegal and Algeria during the 1970s.
