Blord Claims Arrest Was Politically Motivated, Says He Cannot Be Bought
Cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has alleged that his recent arrest and detention were politically motivated, insisting that he cannot be influenced or bought.
Blord made the statement shortly after his release from custody, linking his ordeal to his political stance and support for a preferred candidate.
Speaking during a reception by supporters upon his arrival at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, the 28-year-old entrepreneur said his arrest was not ordinary but tied to political interests.
“I can never be bought,” he declared, adding that attempts to intimidate him would not succeed.
Blord was earlier arrested and remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja over allegations including criminal conspiracy, impersonation and the unauthorised use of the identity of social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
He was, however, granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja on April 17 and subsequently released, days after spending time in custody.
Following his release, the businessman also expressed appreciation to activist Omoyele Sowore, whom he credited for intervening in his case and facilitating his release.
The development has sparked reactions across social media and public discourse, with debates focusing on the intersection of business disputes, political influence and the use of law enforcement in Nigeria.
