A 27-year-old Nigerian scholar, Dr. Ayomide Alokun, has sparked reactions online after staging a protest in Abuja over his inability to secure employment despite his academic achievements.
Dr. Alokun was seen holding a placard stating that he possesses a BSc and MSc in Political Science, as well as a PhD in International Relations, yet remains unemployed.
He also disclosed that he received national recognition during the COVID-19 period for his humanitarian efforts in distributing palliatives while serving as a corps member.
The incident has once again fueled discussions about rising unemployment, underemployment, and the growing frustration faced by many educated youths across Nigeria.
