Again, gunmen attack, burn Police station and free inmates in Abia State

Unknown gunmen, on Monday morning, April 19, reportedly razed down a police station in Uzoakoli, Bende LGA of Abia State, freeing suspects in detention.

According to reports, the gunmen who invaded the statation at about 2:00 a.m, subdued the policemen on duty, set the building and several vehicles ablaze, and also released suspects in custody.

Recall that two policemen were shot dead in the early hours of today, April 19, when unknown gunmen invaded the Zone 13 Nigeria Police Headquarters at Ukpo, near Awka in Anambra State.

The attacks come barely a week after police headquarters and a correctional facility were attacked in neighbouring Imo State with over 1,000 inmates released.
