Many Nigerians have got talking on social media after a church used leavened bread for their holy communion.

Holy Communion or Lord’s Supper, in Christianity, ritual commemoration of Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, at which (according to tradition) he gave them bread with the words, “This is my body,” and wine with the words, “This is my blood.”

Taking to micro blogging platform, Twitter, a young Nigerian man, @jones_ayuwo, shared pictures of what he got during a recent holy communion service in his local church.

According to him, the village church took the service to another level, as they served a local leavened bread popularly known as ‘Agege bread’. He wrote;

“Holy Communion hits different in village church”
See some reactions below;

@holardamolar: But wait, Na only one person own be that or one you chop your own and pass the rest?

@justfrankleen: I thought “holy communion” was a part of Christ’s body and his blood?
If you eat this quantity,what will remain in his body

@iam_bakedboi: but bro you know this is wrong. Partaking in Holy Communion is sacred and not to be brought on social media for laughs, likes and retweets. also it doesnt matter the size or improvisation of what was used as the communion, it is the faith behind it.
