The United Nations, Ambassador for Peace and Social Justice, Hussaini Coomassie, has apologised to the Nigerian youths over his #EndSars comments.
If you recall, Coomassie had condemned the ongoing peaceful anti-police brutality protest in Nigeria. He described the protest as “nonsense,” and blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for allowing the protest.
Coomassie, who is also the Deputy National Coordinator of the Buhari Campaign Organization blamed Buhari for taking things lightly with protesters.

He pointed out that former President Olusegun Obasanjo would never have allowed such protest.
According to Coomassie:
“Can you try this nonsense during Obasanjo’s time? I blame Buhari for taking things lightly. There are certain things that should be handled with an iron fist.”
His comments however earned him a lot of backlash from Nigerians who took to their various social media platforms to call him out and labelled him stupid.
In a new video, Coomassie retraced his steps and apologised to the youth over his rather insensitive comment

Amb. Hussaini Coomassie's apology should be taken with a pinch of salt. His call for iron fist handling of #EndSars protests is partly responsible for attacks on peaceful protesters in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria.
