Rivers APC to Wike

The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress ((APC) has called on the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike to honour his threat to resign if anyone can show him any visible project the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has attracted to the state.

Factional spokesman of the party, chief Ogbonna Nwuke in a statement on Thursday accused Governor Wike of causing division and spreading falsehood on purpose about the transportation Minister.

He alleged that all Wike does is mislead the public by claiming the former governor did nothing that is beneficial to the people of Rivers state.
“Governor Nyesom Wike had taken to the rostrum to vilify the hardworking minister who is delivering quality services to the Nigerian people.

“He forgot the Bodo-Bonny road, and the resuscitation of the Onne Port when he threatened to resign, he forgot the Ogoni clean up orchestrated by his predecessor, but the future is dominated by ideas, vision, science and technology and not by lies and propaganda.

“It takes a lot of insight to get things done, to reach those compromises and reach those understandings that are typically development-driven”, he said.

The spokesman lauded the transport minister and president Buhari for the breathtaking projects approved for Rivers people, stressing that the people are satisfied and need no one to feed them with a kind of truth that lacks a touch of reality.

“We believe that the governor is a man of honour, now that there is proof of Amaechi’s extension of projects to Rivers State, we expect that the Governor would keep his promise and resign”.

OsmekNews gathered that the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the construction of the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri railway line, a Railway Industrial Park and a deep sea port in Bonny.
