APC Governors Ban President Buhari From Appearing Before The National Assembly On Thursday, For Fear Of National Disgrace And Embarrassment
The Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to snub the invitation of the National Assembly, regarding the security situation in the country, which has continued to deteriorate under his watch, Page 36 learnt.
Recall, that President Buhari was scheduled to appear before the House, and brief the Lawmakers on the security challenges rocking the country.
However, during the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the APC, on Tuesday, the Governors reportedly prevailed on the President not to appear before the National Assembly.
According to reports, the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, moved the motion for the cancellation of the President’s planned address.
He reportedly cited a possibility of unnecessary imitations of such invitation by State Assemblies, nationwide.
It was gathered that the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and other Governors, backed Governor Akeredolu.
