Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Geng Shuang has responded to criticisms fired by America over their transparency about the virus stating that attacking China “wouldn’t win back wasted time or lost lives”

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Geng advised the international community to focus more on banding together to fight against the virus rather than trying to play the blame game.

“We hope those people in the US respect facts, science and international consensus”, he said. “They should stop attacking and blaming China, stop making irresponsible remarks, and focus more on domestic containment and international cooperation.

“Certain Americans should be clear about this: China isn’t their enemy. The international community must band together to win the fight against the virus.” Geng appealed

Speaking further on Australia’s call of an “independent review” of origin of the virus in Wuhan, China, Geng tagged it “disrespectful”.

He urged Australia to embrace bilateral co-operation rather than “echoing a certain country and following its footsteps to hype up the issue.”

Meanwhile, previous attempts by the United States to send investigators into China had been rebuffed, Trump said on Sunday.
