Former Presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba has stated that for removing a tweet from President Buhari’s handle, Twitter needs to be shut down from Nigeria’s internet space.
Twitter deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet where he issued a threat to deal with “misbehaving” elements in “the language they understand”, while making reference to Nigeria’s civil war.
While defending its action, the tech company said the President’s tweet violated its rules.
Adamu in his reaction posted on his Twitter handle called for Twitter to be shut down.
”Twitter has no right to infuse into our local political affairs. It’s a company not a government. By removing our democratically elected President’s speech to the people of Nigeria, Twitter need to shutdown from Nigerian internet space. Twitter need to get out of Nigeria.”
