Child trafficking syndicate sells two kids for N400k in Abia State

A syndicate that specialises in abducting children of two to three years old using biscuits and candies as baits, has been smashed by the Abia State Police Command.

The syndicate was smashed on Friday, December 11. The Commissioner of Police, Janet Agbede, who paraded the kidnappers at the command headquarters, said that the kidnappers were caught at various locations.

According to him, the police arrested them after they abducted children belonging to one Mrs Happiness Monday — Marvelous Monday,3, and Mrs Rejoice Ikechukwu — David,3, both of Umuochialla village in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State.

The investigation conducted by the police, resulted in the arrest of Chinonso Slyvanus, 17 and Ekene Duru, 31, who sold the children for N20000 each to Rose Okoro, 45, and Ngozi Ukpai, 38. The buyers later resold the victims to one Chidi Okoro for N450000.
