Electric Workers Union who went on strike yesterday has call off the one day strike claiming it has reached an agreement with the federal government
The National Union of Electricity Employees,NUEE claimed the strike was embarked upon to draw federal government’s attention to the plight of its members.
According to Comrade Joe Ajaero, National President of NUEE said the understanding came about following the outcome of the meeting where the workers’ grievances were addressed.
He explained, “We have concluded deliberations and all issues were addressed but we are awaiting implementation. Meanwhile, our strike action is suspended.”
The strike which comes up as a response to failure of the federal government to comply with the body’s 21 days ultimatum which ends Tuesday December 10 2019.
