İstanbul Başakşehir walked off the field during their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, over claims of alleged racism, with former Chelsea striker Demba Ba leading their exit.
Around 22 minutes into the fixture at Parc des Princes, a fiery debate broke out on the touchline amid an exchange of words between players, staff and Romanian fourth official Sebastian Coltescu.
Istanbul assistant Pierre Webo, confronted the fourth official over an alleged ‘racial slur’ and was sent off for his demonstrations. Soon after, Demba Ba led his teammates down the tunnel and play was suspended with reports in Turkey, claiming Istanbul would only resume if the fourth official was replaced.
