Fourth gas explosion this month in Ogun State, kills two at Obasanjo’s library
Two persons were reportedly killed when a gas exploded within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday morning, May 20.
The explosion occurred around 11:am at the Marcque event centre within the Presidential Library. It was gathered that technicians were topping up gas into the Air Condition (AC) when it exploded.
This is the fourth gas explosion recorded in the State in May alone. On May 13, 3 people, including an infant, were killed in an explosion at Oke-Egunya, along NTA Road in Abeokuta when a technician was topping up gas of a faulty refrigerator.
The following day, a man amputated as another refrigerator gas explosion happened at a house on Sowemimo Street, off Mercy Road, Abeokuta.
Again on May 18, two people were killed in Abeokuta after a gas explosion at Conference Hotel.
