Fundamental Human Rights Case : Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's trial commences Tomorrow

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s fundamental human rights suits at High Court Umuahia will continue tomorrow being 10th of December 2021 .

Barrister Aloy Ejimakor the special counsel to Mazi Nnamdi on 7th September filed a suit against Federal Government and 7 others for violating Fundamental Human Rights of his client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu spotting at the invasion of his home at Afaraukwu Ibeku in Umuahia Abia State in 2017 by the Nigerian security operatives which left more than 28 people dead .

In the suit filed by Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, he demands that the Court should grant Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the following :

“To award him N5bn as damages for the breach of his fundamental human rights which began with the 2017 extrajudicial attempt on his life in Abia, his involuntary flight to safety/exile, his abduction in Kenya, and his extra ordinary rendition from Kenya to Nigeria is unlawful and illegal “

“Prayed the court to declare that his arrest, torture and detention were unconstitutional “

Recall that previously on 19th November 2021, Justice Benson Anya issued an order restraining security agencies from deploying heavy personnel to the court premises whenever the case of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is heard before the court.
