The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) has disclosed that it will on Monday, November 21, arraign the Medical Director (MD) of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation (OCCF), Dr Femi Olaleye, for allegedly defiling his wife’s 16-year-old niece.

Olaleye is accused of r@ping the minor who was living with him and his wife at their residence in the state, after the girl’s father passed on. It was learned that the doctor allegedly deflowered the minor after introducing her to p#rnogr@phy. He was also accused of perpetrating the crime for about 19 months until the wife discovered and reported the matter to the Lagos State Police Command for investigation.

The policemen detailed to investigate the case reportedly arrested Olaleye and the case was transferred to the Gender Unit of the police command, where an Investigative Police Officer, Bimbo Williams, was assigned to handle the case from March 2022.

As proper sanctioning of the suspect was not forthcoming, it was learnt that a petition was written to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency to intervene in the matter. The agency forwarded the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecution and recommended Olaleye for trial.

In a letter of notification titled: “State of Lagos vs Dr Olufemi Olaleye”, signed by the Principal State Council of DPP, Mr Oluwagbenga Alagbe, Olaleye will be arraigned in court today.

“Olaleye will be facing a two-count charge of defilement and s£xual a§§ault by p£n£tration. He must appear before the honourable court and also make provision for a legal practitioner of his choice,” the letter read in part. Alagbe also said a copy of the information papers and proof of evidence was attached to the notification of arraignment already sent to the accused.

Recall that comedienne Princess and actress Kate Henshaw have repeatedly called on the police to arraign Olaleye.
