The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, for attempting to smuggle 5kg of c+c@ine to India. The dr¥gs were concealed in the walls of their suitcases.

The arrest took place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, following credible intelligence, according to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy. The suspects claimed they were traveling for medical treatment.

In a related operation on the same day, NDLEA operatives at the MMIA Strategic Command intercepted a 20-year-old Ghanaian-British man, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, with 19.4kg of Loud, a potent strain of c@nnab+s. The dr¥gs were packed in a large traveling bag.

Osei, who identified himself as a Computer Science student at East London University, was arrested during the inward clearance of an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Bangkok, Thailand. He told officials he had traveled to Bangkok to pick up the dr¥gs for delivery in Nigeria.
