NDLEA Nabs Ex-Convict with Illicit Drug Hidden in Speakers

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 41-year-old ex-convict and Malaysian returnee, Ndubuisi Udatu, also known as Richard, for attempting to traffic methamphetamine concealed inside music speakers.
This was revealed in a signed statement by the agency’s Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Ndubuisi was caught on Monday, April 7, at an NDLEA checkpoint in Namtari, along the Ngurore–Yola road in Adamawa State.
He was traveling in a commercial bus with two large speakers stuffed with four parcels of m£th weighing 2.7kg, intended for distribution in Yola, Mubi, and Cameroon.
Officers also recovered N22,300 from him.
During questioning, he confessed to resuming the dr¥g trade after serving time in Malaysia for a similar offense.
