A newly identified t+rr+r group known as Mahmuda has surfaced in North-Central Nigeria, launching de@dly att@cks on rural communities, SaharaReporters has learned.
The group is said to operate around the Kainji Lake National Park, which spans parts of Kwara and Niger states. Affected areas include communities in Kaiama and Baruten Local Government Areas in Kwara (such as Kemaanji, Tenebo, Baabete, Nuku, and Nanu), as well as Babana and Wawa districts in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to local sources, Mahmuda militants att@cked the community of Kemaanji on Wednesday, k+lling over 15 people, including members of a local vigilante group.
“Their leader has issued threats through voice notes, warning surrounding communities. They k+ll, k+dnap, and demand ransom,” a resident told SaharaReporters.
