Nigerians drags CBN Godwin Emefiele for freezing bank account of EndSARS protesters

Nigerians has dragged CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, for freezing the bank accounts of EndSARS protesters and promoters across the country.

The CBN Governor on October 20, filed an ex-parte court application to freeze the account which was promptly granted by Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.

Some of the bank accounts blocked by CBN included those run by Gatefield, a public interest think-tank, and Bassey Israel, a pharmacist. Gatefield has already filed a lawsuit challenging the freezing of its account.

The banks that were ordered to freeze bank accounts of the #EndSARS protesters who helped in legal cases , food, security and medication.

Godwin Emefiele has since been called out by Nigerians for infringing on the human right of its citizens. See some of the reactions below.
