The Elder Stateman, Chief Edwin Clark has said that the Kenyan Government has to address claims that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, was abducted in the East African country.
Clark also called for a fair and decent trial for Nnamdi Kanu, adding that he has yet to understand how the IPOB leader was brought back to Nigeria by the Federal Government.
Nnamdi Kanu was rearrested in Kenya, according to popular reports, although the Nigerian government is yet to make public how the separatist leader was apprehended.
“I hope the Federal Government will give him a fair, decent and open trial. Because, up till today, I do not understand how the Federal Government got him back into Nigeria,” the elder statesman told BBC Pidgin.
“We remember the days of Umaru Dikko who was put in a big box and brought back to Nigeria. I don’t know how this young man (Kanu) was brought back to Nigeria.”
Nnamdi was arraigned before the Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court in Abuja few days after his extraction and detained at the Headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, Abuja.
