“In my last interview, I made it known to IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu categorically that if they keep on pushing for this Biafra of a thing, we might end up not getting the opportunity to rule this country come 2023 because the Northerners and Westerners may not vote for an Igbo man.
“If we continue to paint the image of our country bad to the international community, the negative effects will still fall back on us whenever we travel outside the shores of Nigeria. Because we will continue to be treated with the same negative tag that the world knows Nigeria for.
“We need to be wary of every form of divisible campaign against Nigeria, and fight to keep our fatherland one.
“I understand the huge influence that Nnamdi Kanu wields to some Igbo people. I also understand that a lot of Igbo people believe in him. But my advice to him is that, he should channel that influence towards the right direction.
“He should use that influence that he commands to foster oneness and unity in Nigeria, and advice the Igbo people to forget about the idea of Biafra, and embrace one Nigeria.
“I believe that he can do that, he will truly be one of the greatest statesmen Nigeria has ever produced.
“Cultivating hatred and divisiveness amongst us as a country is not healthy for our growth, and a house divided against itself cannot stand.
“United we stand, but divided we fall. We as a country should rather be united against external forces, and not develop hatred for ourselves within the country.
“Nigeria is a beautiful and great country, all we need are the right leaders to lead us to a prosperous future. And to achieve that, all hands must be on deck, and everyone must contribute his own quota. So I urge Nnamdi Kanu to reason with the Ohanaeze ndi Igbo, let’s see how we can produce the next President of the country come 2023.”
