Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has reacted to creation of the Biafra defacto Customary Government (BCG) by former militant Asari Dokubo.
IPOB declared that there can be no Biafra without Nnamdi Kanu.
Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, alongside three other persons, announced the formation of the new BCG government, citing marginalisation of the Igbos.
He said, “We are going to proceed to set up provincial structures of government starting with provincial assemblies and provincial governance and administrators.”
In its reaction, IPOB likened Biafra and Nnamdi Knau as the engine and tyres of a vehicle without which there will be no movement despite the functions of other parts of the vehicle.
IPOB’s spokesman Emma Powerful told Daily Post; “Even you know that there is no Biafra without IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu. No matter whatever anybody forms or claims, the Biafra story cannot be complete without Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.”
Meanwhile, the federal government through the Minister of Information and Culture Mr Lai Mohammed said the creation of the new government would be taken as “one of these entertainment things.”
“The beauty about Nigeria is that it is never a dull country, you must have one thing or the other to entertain you.’’
Mohammed said, adding that the Muhammadu Buhari led administration “will not be distracted because we still have a lot to do.”
